REVIEW: Their Special Agent by Mel Gough

A murder. Three gorgeous men. One choice – Do your job, or follow your heart?

On the eve of the Thistle Hearts reunion tour, the rock band’s manager is found murdered. When Special Agent Carrie McDonald arrives to assist with the investigation, the band has mixed emotions about the involvement of the FBI. Fifteen years after their heyday, Jay, Lou and Corey have everything riding on a successful comeback, and their manager’s violent death has thrown them into turmoil. The last thing they need is the wrong kind of press.

As Carrie delves into the case, the band’s complex history of desire and tragedy emerges. Their shared passion intrigues and excites her, and gradually, the men open up and draw her into their ménage.

But a killer is on the loose, and he’s not yet done with Thistle Hearts.
Can Carrie prevent another brutal crime and protect the men who offer her a future beyond her wildest dreams?

This was a wonderfully well written book. Most are stuffed full of erotica and sex this author actually put a lot of time and effort into the plot and story. It helped to really understand the characters and story-line. It was a great read.

Carrie is one hard ass FBI agent until she meets three boys that will change everything she thinks and does regarding her job and her personal life to boot. She is strong and powerful yet small and mighty in personality.

Corey oh my lordy, he is for sure my favorite of all the guys. Mister Casa Nova himself, he could charm the pants off of anybody he  meets. I think he may be the most hurt by Carrie and her dismissal of him.

Lou is definitely the timid sweet innocent one of the group. Jay and Corey take care of him but he is no slough. Hes sexy and knows what he wants and has some attitude to his personality.

Jay oh man he is full of attitude towards Carrie and any law enforcement professional because of past experiences. He is for sure the leader. Strong dominant and a big caretaker.

This book is full of intrigue and mystery surrounding the band and their manager being murdered. I definitely wasn't expecting who the murderer was, I thought it was someone completely different and I loved that i sat there while reading it trying to figure it out and really I had no clue.

Jay and Lou's relationship brings a whole new aspect to the reverse Harem novel. It adds a twist you normally wouldn't think about in their personal situation and how Carrie deals with it.

Mel Gough loves writing about love – but with a twist. Nominated for the 2019 Selfies Awards, her bisexual romantic suspense novel He is Mine is a typical Mel Gough story. She needs her HEA fix, but on the way there will be thorns and fire, and sometimes brimstone. All right, that might be over the top, especially since her stories are firmly based in the real world - though not always in the here and now.

Born in Germany, exploring other realities has been Mel’s siren call since she was young. Books opened up a plethora of worlds, and soon gave her a strong love of the English language. After an MA in Anthropology, field work in the middle of nowhere seemed like one adventure too far, so Mel settled in London, which, to misquote Dr. Johnson, she will never tire of.

Mel loves to bend genres – her romances are gritty and dark, and sometimes there’s a dead body. She’s been told that her prose is beautiful yet disturbingly real. She’s curious about bygone times, and hopes to speculate about the future in one of her next books.
She was once asked “How to tell you're in a Mel Gough novel”
- You were either sick or in an accident, or you’re caring for someone who was
- You're bisexual (or your partner is)
- Your partner has unusual eyes (probably grey)
- Life sucks a lot, but then you meet someone, and things get better (less)

REVIEW: My Dark Captor By Melody Adams

She is his obsession and he will stop at nothing to have her.
Sophia:

When I stumble in Iwan Nowikow’s path, my life, as I knew it is over. He sees something in me he wants, so he takes it by kidnapping me. He hurts me and gives me pleasure. He awakens a dark side in me; I never knew I had. I hate him and I crave him. He is my dark captor.

Iwan:

When I see Sophia, I want her, so I take her. I'll make her mine in every way. I crave to hurt her and I want to devour her. I know what I am. I am a monster und sweet Sophia deserves better. But that doesn't keep me from taking what I crave. Her tears, her cries and her devotion.

This is not a book for the faint or weak stomached. It is very good but definitely has edgy subject matter to it that not everyone will be able to handle.

It was a lot shorter than I would have liked I wanted to keep reading more and the cliffhanger the author left it on is to die for.

Sophia is a fight so strong and such a great character even though she gets thrown through the ringer.

Iwan on the other hand im not gonna lie I hated him til the very end with his sadistic torture and cruelty. You gotta hate one in every book right.

I really did like the authors writing style and creativity and flow of the story. She is a very amazing author. I will definitely be looking for more by Melody Adams.

REVIEW: Feathers and Fae by Crystal L. Kirkham

Emmett and Kami have always been best friends, but Emmett has been keeping secrets. His past catches up with him when a dark fae known as the Erlkrönig chases them into the realm of Mythos. In this strange world, Kami has the ability to know when people are lying. Unfortunately, that means she knows that everything Emmett has ever told her was a lie-even his name!

Emmett needs Kami to trust him enough to get her back to safety. It’s a fine line to walk between lies and truth, and the dangerous journey ahead will put their friendship to the test. As the Erlkrönig closes in on them, the web of lies Emmett has built begins to unravel and Kami demands the truth-a truth that will shake the foundations of everything she ever believed.

Not my normal read but this did not disappoint at all. Such a wonderful young adult fantasy book. Angels, Fae, Reapers, Seer's, Yeti, do many amazing different creatures that this author created in this world.

This book is about two humans that are being tracked by an evil creature. So much unfolds in this story, they go through different realms to escape and save their lives.

Em or Emmett or Emeniel is the secretive protective man of the story. I just love his character, so protective and powerful even though nobody knows it. He cares more than he should but keeps it all to himself even though it kills him.

Kami is something else entirely so strong and stubborn and free spirited. When you learn what she really is her personality really makes sense.

Im trying not to give away spoilers but its so hard because this is a must read for anyone that loves fantasy and getting transported through a book to another world in this case numerous worlds.

I will be on the lookout for more by this author she is amazing.

REVIEW: Caden's Command: A BOLD Security Novel (Finding Submission Duet Book 2) by Zoey Derrick

It's Finally HERE! The long awaited, highly anticipated follow-up novel to Zoey Derrick's Finding Submission Duet.
This book can be read as a Standalone - however, it is recommended that you check out the Duet's first book, Aryn's Desire, first.

Aryn “Beck” Becker has given into his deepest desire.

He’s submitted to the one man who can bring him to his knees, Caden Mitchell.

But things aren't perfect.

Caden’s been away working on his latest project and Aryn is lonely. His loneliness incites thoughts of all the things he wants more of with Caden. But is Caden willing to give him more?

With the secrets of their pasts revealed, Aryn worries Caden has already given his heart away forever.

Then Caden returns and everything changes.

Can Aryn live with Caden's command when he wants so much more from him? Will Aryn and Caden find love and happiness to last a lifetime or will their individual desires pull them apart?

**** CONTENT WARNING ****
This is a M/M Romance with highly graphic sexual scenes that include Dominance and submission along with some wonderful male on male action.
Batteries are not included.
I highly recommend having Husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, significant others on hand while reading this book.
Cold showers and panty changes may be required.
If you're not the type of person who enjoys gay romance stories - skip this book.
If you're INTO hot steamy sex between two men... DIVE ON IN!

I thought Aryn's Desire was amazing but Caden's Command is a hundred times better. So emotional and heart wrenching. I just got so enthralled by it.

It opens your eyes to Aryn's submission and what really happens to Subs and Doms during play sessions and what comes after. It really is an amazing read.

Zoey Derrick really outdid herself in this novel. She had me in tears at the ending. It tugged at my heart strings all that Caden and Aryn went through together.

This was the perfect ending for these two books. A must read for anyone that loves the romantic BDSM genre.

REVIEW: Aryn's Desire: A BOLD Security Novel (Finding Submission Duet Book 1)by Zoey Derrick

A 69 Bottles Spin-off Series staring the Bodyguards from Bold International, Inc

The tour is over, now what?
Aryn “Beck” Becker has nothing but time on his hands and a strong lack of women in his bed. His vacant bed is by choice, the plain and simple fact is, they’re boring him.

Unable to shake the nagging feeling that he’s missing something in his life, Dex decides to bring him along to The Box and introduce him to the kinkier side of sex and relationships.

Beck’s heart is set, he’ll find a great woman willing to be his submissive, he’ll train and hopefully find happiness inside the club.
But when a scene enraptures him, he’s surprised by his own desire and the Top that can bring him to his knees.

This is one amazing novel. Aryn or Beck is one of my favorite body guards from the 69 Bottles series. This has a lot of the great characters from that series but it really is a standalone that can be read without reading the others. Its amazing and you learn so much about Aryn and his past and what he has gone through and why he is the way he is.

This is all about Aryn and him following his heart and desires even though he is struggling with what he wants and what he needs.

He is very lonely after most of his friends are coupling up and leaving him to his own devices until he meets Caden.

Caden is something else, he struggles with his own past and issues and letting someone into his heart and life.

Hes so strong and dominant and then he meets Aryn and just cant get him out of his head and he stalks him all over the world trying to convince him they should try to have a BDSM relationship. I personally find it hilarious that the very dominant man of the book is kind of a stalker.

Amazing writing as always from Zoey Derrick

99 ¢ Deal of the Day – Her Football Star Billionaire Groom by Ellie Hall

Her Football Star Billionaire Groom by Ellie Hall
She can’t trust the man who ran away. He only has twelve days to get a second chance. Will they get a Christmas miracle?
The feisty and beautiful, Rachel Moore, returns to her hometown to help her ailing mother and try to survive the holidays. When her high school sweetheart shows up—she knows survival is no longer possible.
The pro football player, Ryan Kelly, is reeling from his father’s sudden passing. Not to mention the stipulation in his father’s will that states he has to get married by Christmas or he won’t get his inheritance, or the money to fund his charity. The old man was tricky and forcing he and his brothers to get married is just playing dirty pool if you ask him. When he literally runs into the woman he hasn’t been able to get out of his mind the past five years, things get dicey.
After agreeing to play Santa for the care center Rachel’s mother is staying in, he suddenly finds himself wanting to help Rachel and really wanting to bust the guy’s lip who keeps trying to win her back. Now they are left with a choice; forgive the past or lose each other forever.
Excerpt:
“What are you smiling about?” he asked.
Her hand flew to her mouth. “I’m not smiling.”
“You were before like you were remembering something.”
She groaned. He knew her so well. “I was just thinking back to high school and how I was the nerdy science geek.”
“And I was a football jock.”
“But somehow we became best friends.”
“We sure did.”
The truth in her heart, begging to be spoken, was then we became more. But she wouldn’t let those particular words fall from her tongue because that stupid package had almost split open the splinter that was still raw inside her heart. Nevertheless, being around him filled her in a way she hadn’t experienced in a long time. It was a light from the past that brought her warmth. If she let it, it could illuminate her future. She clung to hope. She needed a lamplight of some sort to guide her forward. He knew her the best of anyone, she wanted that familiarity and comfort amidst so much uncertainty. She fought a silent battle and finally came up with a truce. They were both in a small town, making it difficult to avoid each other. They had a shared past, there was no denying that. As it stood, Rachel’s future was uncertain. Her mind-heart-body decided she and Ryan could rekindle their friendship so she wasn’t so alone. But nothing more. That part of the treaty was highlighted and underlined.
“Do you think we could try being friends again?” she blurted. After the devasting news, she really needed a friend.
As he gazed through the windshield and into the beams of light from the truck’s headlights funneling the snow as it came down, his jaw twitched, his lips pressed together, and the conflict in his eyes caused her heart to hurt.
He cleared his throat. “Yeah, I’d like that.”
She was still in shock from Ryan’s reappearance, the box under the tree and what it had meant, and the very fact that she’d left Miami, but the weather at that moment was of greater concern. It was likely what Ryan also struggled with the most. In part, it was mother nature who had taken away the lovely, kind, and generous Susan Kelly.
Rachel drew a breath. “I wasn’t expecting this storm. It’s practically whiteout conditions. You’re welcome to come in and wait for it to pass.” It was the right thing to offer, the reasonable thing. She would’ve offered shelter to anyone in need or passing through—neighbor or stranger. It had nothing to do with the fact that it was Ryan, the boy she’d once loved. It wasn’t that she wanted to know if he’d become a man that she could be friends with.
It was also because she knew what was going through his mind. She knew him too well.
His hand gripped the wheel as the truck idled.
Susan Kelly had been flown into one of the larger towns nearby for a grocery run. The conditions hadn’t been ideal and the pilot had a stroke. When the wreckage was found, she was gone. Scattered around were protein bars for Ryan, Parker’s favorite cereal, and new socks for Clark. All the brothers blamed themselves.
If they’d told her to wait for the conditions to clear up, maybe she’d have…
If he hadn’t asked for those special bars that were only available at Myer’s Health Food Store…
If only…
Rachel knew all about the what-if game. If there a Superbowl level competition for it, she’d be a worthy opponent against Ryan.
“Hopefully it’ll let up soon.” Ryan raked his hand through his hair as though balancing between two difficult choices.
She didn’t want to think he hesitated because of her, their past, or the box.
Then he suddenly slid out of the truck and slammed his door. Before she was able to open the passenger side, he’d pulled it open and took the box of kittens from her lap. As he did so his hand brushed the back of hers. The magnetism between them pulsed. He quickly moved away.
Shivers ran up her spine. Like the place where he’d gripped her arm, the spot seared from his accidental touch. She told her body to shut it down. Offering Ryan stay an hour or two for the storm to slow and the plows to clear the roads was the civil and safe thing to do.
“We should get these guys settled in.” He trudged up the path to the dark house where Rachel had lived her entire life.
She followed his massive footsteps, wincing as the snow dropped into her sneakers.
Rachel’s mother, Sheila Moore, had worked as the secretary to a nearby lumber company for over twenty-five years. She’d also taken odd jobs, looking after other people’s kids, cleaning houses, and helping local business owners with bookkeeping. While Rachel was in kindergarten, she’d saved enough to buy the rented house from the homeowners when they’d decided to retire in Arizona. Sheila had taken a lot of pride in the home and was fastidious about cleaning and decorating.
If Ryan noticed the changes in the house, he didn’t say anything. Boxes were stacked against one wall where the Christmas tree usually stood. There were bags for donations and a jumble of household items Rachel planned to try to sell at a yard sale in the spring.
She was going to try to explain, but the words caught in her throat.
As Ryan refilled a bowl of water for the cats, she said a prayer. When she opened her eyes, he took two mugs out of the cabinet. Of course, he’d known his way around her house since they’d spent so much time together in high school, but she was surprised to see him return so quickly to that comfort level.
She brushed past him and put the kettle on. “I can do it. Did you want anything to drink?” She was torn between having good manners and the harsh reality that Ryan Kelly, the Ryan Kelly was back in her life and she wanted to be friends with him.
“I got it. I figured we could use something warm.”
She dropped two herbal gingerbread tea bags in their mugs—one decorated with Christmas elves and the other with mini Santa heads. The box wrapped with Christmas paper that she’d accidentally opened came to mind again.
It had said Please, say yes. She needed to say no.
No to Ryan’s presence.
No to the mixed feelings she had.
No to anything other than friendship.
No to everything other than focusing on the reason she was packing up the house and preparing to sell it.
What she needed was closure on the past, when he’d run without explanation, leaving her, the girl he was going to ask to marry him, all alone. And truly being alone loomed in her near future. Or maybe because she was back home and the heartbreaking and inevitable conclusion with her mom, part of her wanted the familiarity of a friend, of Ryan.
She squeezed her eyes shut at how complicated all her feelings had become.
He lowered into a chair at the kitchen table. It was covered in tape, a black marker, and stacks of old newspapers.
“You’re back in town, but it looks like you’re leaving soon.” He leaned back in the chair.
She nodded then shook her head. “Just relocating.” It was the only solution she could come up with to pay the hefty medical bills.
“Back to Miami?” he asked.
She opened and closed her mouth. Rachel knew returning home was the right thing to do, the only thing, but the career and dream she’d given up still pained her. It was selfish to think that way and made her feel empty and guilty inside because her mother was the one who was truly suffering.
She couldn’t answer his question because her future was uncertain. “I just want to get through the holidays,” she said. It was the best answer she could give.
“Yeah. I know the feeling.”
At those words, she recalled his loss had recently doubled. “I’m sorry about your father. I would’ve gone to the funeral but—” She was careful to be sensitive to his recent loss on top of how difficult it was to be outright mad at him. Being numb, indifferent, or at least telling herself she was for all those years, was easier.
He waved her off. “I couldn’t expect you to fly all the way here for me—” He stopped himself. “I mean, my family. It’s no big deal.”
Except it was. She was struggling with what it would mean to lose someone she loved dearly. “Actually, I was on a boat out of range doing a project for my doctorate. I found out when I got back but by then they’d already had the services.” She explained a bit about her degree and research in the mid-Atlantic. “We’d discovered a rare form of plankton, which proved a hypothesis…Never mind. This can’t possibly interest you.”
He raised his eyebrows. “If you recall, I enjoyed when you talked nerdy.” A smirk appeared on his lips.
Her stomach tickled and she shifted in her seat. “Well, raising funds for research and the actual research itself bores most guys.”
“Rachel, I’m not most guys.” The smirk turned into a wolfish grin.
Heat splashed her cheeks. She ignored how the tickling feeling turned into fluttering. Had she been able, she would’ve gone to his father’s funeral even though seeing Ryan would’ve caused her untold anxiety. But bumping into him on the trail was on another level all together.
Again, her entire being was at odds: mind, body, heart all vying for different things. She’d learned of Mr. Kelly’s death the same day she’d returned to the mainland. She could’ve been on a plane the same day and gone to Ryan’s side—to be there for him. Instead, she’d boarded one bound for Colorado less than a week later, but without a return ticket. She should’ve expected to run into him at one point or another. But she didn’t expect him to want her to be there during the difficult time. Rachel wrapped her arms around her chest.
“Chilly?” Ryan glanced at the kettle, which was slow to boil.
They were both still in their running gear. “I should go change.” She hurried out of the room, but not because she was cold. Being so close to Ryan ignited those old feelings and she was warm all over.
After she swapped out one pair of leggings for another and tugged on a sweater, the kettle whistled. She rushed from her room to turn off the burner on the stove. It was dark at the foot of the stairs and she collided with someone solid. Her body smacked into Ryan’s. She had a sudden and deep sympathy for every football player he encountered. His arms were quickly around her, holding her steady.
He asked, “Are you okay? Sorry, I was in the living room starting a fire and heard the tea kettle.”
She gazed up into his eyes. They twinkled in the growing light that came from the living room. “You started a fire?” That was thoughtful of him.
“Wanted you to keep warm. And the kittens,” he added.
He had no idea. She was still in his arms and every inch of her skin was blazing. She’d gladly go stand in the snowstorm if only to cool off.
His gaze dipped to her lips then he took a deep breath before he let her go.
She hurried into the kitchen.
The passion they’d shared as high school sweethearts was so strong it shouldn’t have surprised Rachel that there’d still be residual feelings so many years later. It would be so easy to slip back into their old ways. Except for one thing. He’d taken off. He’d left. She couldn’t easily forget that.

Reaper by Larissa Ione Blog Tour Banner

When I found out that Larissa Ione and her marketing team were offering Advanced Reader Copies of the upcoming Reaper book, I JUMPED on that chance.

Seriously.

I have always been a gigantic fan of the Demonica series by Larissa Ione.  Whether it was the Sem brothers or the Horsemen, I was seriously in love with the entire series.

I even loved the Underworld novellas in the 1001 Dark Nights series, which are also published by Evil Eye Concepts, Inc.

That Azagoth was going to get another book, a full-length one this time?

I drooled.  I'm not ashamed.

So let's discuss the book itself for those not familiar with the series OR the author before I give my review.

"Reaper is . . . Epic. Thrilling. Amazing. No one can suck me into a story like Larissa Ione." -- Donna Grant, New York Times bestselling author.

Reaper by Larissa Ione Now Available Banner

Excerpt

“I have no doubt Azagoth will stop at nothing to save Lilliana,” Reaver admitted. “But he knows that if he releases Satan, Satan will kill Lilliana. He can’t risk it.”

“What do you suggest we do then?”

“I can talk to him,” Reaver said. “Hawkyn requested information about a fallen angel named Flail. I’ll use that as an excuse to get to Azagoth.”

A flock of gulls squawked as the birds circled the palace, looking for handouts from Caila’s guests, and Metatron had to raise his voice to be heard. “You said he sealed off Sheoul-gra.”

“Hawkyn will open it to me if I can convince him that I’m not there to destroy his father.”

It shouldn’t be a problem; Hawkyn wouldn’t have contacted Reaver at all if he weren’t sure Reaver could handle the situation without killing anyone.

“And if Azagoth is out of control?” Metatron asked. “Will you destroy him?”

“Isn’t it a little early to be discussing that?”

Metatron rolled his shoulders, probably not even aware he’d done it, but Reaver knew he was testing his wings and his powers, feeling them out at the thought that shit might get really fucking biblical real soon.

“He can’t be allowed to release Satan,” he said, fire in his tone. “And he can’t be allowed to escape Sheoul-gra.”

“Would escaping be such a bad thing?”

Reaver wasn’t Azagoth’s biggest fan, but the guy had been trapped for thousands of years. He’d proven that he was capable of wrangling souls and navigating the politics of both Sheoul and Heaven. He’d chilled out a lot since getting mated, too. Seemed like it wouldn’t be a big deal if he lived where he wanted and commuted to work.

Metatron appeared troubled that Reaver would even ask such an apparently insane question. “Yes, it could be bad.”

“Why?” Reaver asked. “I mean, I get that he’s an asshole, but a lot bigger assholes are running around loose.”

Like the fallen angels who had killed Wraith. He clenched his fists, wishing he was out hunting them right now.

“Azagoth signed contracts,” Metatron said. “Contracts sealed with the powers of Heaven and Sheoul. We don’t know what kind of damage we’d take if he made that big of a breach.”

Sounded kind of minor to Reaver, but he knew well how seriously Heaven took broken rules and breaches of contract. They also weren’t fond of Heaven being damaged, which was why Revenant, while technically welcome here, wasn’t…welcome. His presence destroyed everything around him.

“Okay,” Reaver said. “Let me grab the info on Flail and give Hawkyn a call. I’ll let you know what happens. And, Uncle?”

Metatron inclined his head.

“I want this to stay between us for now.”

Silence stretched. Not even the gulls called out, and Reaver started to sweat. Metatron had always been fair and by-the-book, which was probably part of why Reaver had been such a rule breaker as a youth. And beyond. Hell, he still was, he just wasn’t as reckless about it now.

Responsibility was a bitch.

No Spoiler Review - 4 Stars!

***I received an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.***

Wow.

Just wow.

I have to be honest here.

I loved it.

LOVED it.

Firstly, you absolutely MUST read the author's note at the beginning of the book or you are going to be mad at first and possibly not finish the book.

It's THAT important.

You really, really need to read that author's note where our beloved author asks us to trust her while reading Reaper.

It wasn't long before I figured out why.

I cannot tell you why without spoiling most of the story, though!

OMG!  I don't even know where to start here.

The Good

  • The writing was excellent, editing great, or at least I never noticed anything as the story was THAT compelling!
  • Characters had depth and were consistent with previous books.  This means Shade acted like a jerk when he was upset with his brother, but that's not just our beloved Shade.
  • Azagoth...  Just saying, there isn't anything to dislike about this badass.  He's epic.  EPIC.
  • The plot was hands down the most nail-biting story that I've read ALL year.
  • The story kept me reading LONG past my bedtime simply because I had to find out that everything was going to be okay.
  • I was SERIOUSLY upset and pissed about the events at the beginning half of the book.  This is only a good thing because a good story will make you have feels, not all of them good, but a good story can piss you off too!
  • The end of the book.  Phew!  I was so relieved.
  • It kept me at the edge of my seat
  • Unpredictable.  I did not predict who the traitor was and that's something I'm usually good about figuring out before the big reveal.  I was blindsided like the characters!  Boom!
I'm really glad I decided to read the author's note, though.  Which brings us to...

The Bad

  • I was SERIOUSLY upset.  I can't tell you more without spoiling it.  I spent half the book wanting to throw my Kindle.  That said, the author's note made me finish.  I'm definitely happy I did!
  • It's worth mentioning twice, that I was SERIOUSLY UPSET!
  • This is the last Demonica book!  That said, this story leads us to a NEW series about the kids!  (I think.)
  • I was missing the romance, honestly.  This book felt more urban fantasy than paranormal romance.  That's not a bad thing, exactly.  I love me some urban fantasy, especially when it includes romance.  Urban fantasy like that is like a paranormal romance series with only one couple, so it is all drawn out and awesomesauce. But I was kind of wishing for more Azagoth and Lilliana moments.
  • Betrayal and heartbreak.  Some things are uber sad in this book, with death and such.  And when it is found who the betrayer is?  I was upset then too!

My Crazy Thoughts (Sans Spoilers)

I honestly don't know how to summarize this without giving anything away.  I really, really don't.  But I'll give it a shot.

This book requires a leap of faith from fans to finish and you definitely will want to commit authorcide at one point or another until you get to the end.

You will not be disappointed at the way the author ended this book and this amazing series.

Without giving too much away, Reaper is ending one fantastic series and leading the way into another fantastic sounding series, I think.  About what, you may ask?  The KIDS!  Woot!

So Reaper is the end of one of my favorite series.  I feel a reread coming on soon because I miss the Sem brothers (and sister) and it has been a while for me.

I AM looking forward to the next project from this author that seems exciting from the ending of this book, though!

The ONLY reason I didn't rate this book 5 stars is because it was lacking the romantic feels for me.  Azagoth and his lovely wife spent the entire book apart, nearly, and in peril, so it was all action and little in the way of sweetness that I was craving!

Larissa Ione writes some great romantic scenes, especially when the Sem brothers were first meeting up with their mates.  And the Horsemen, too!  The Demonica Underworld novellas were a little too short for me to get attached to (with the exception of Azagoth), but at least they kept my Demonica fix in check!

Anyway, this one lacked the author's usual flair with romance and I missed it.  Maybe because it was a sequel to Azagoth and much more about the plot and action, which I am in NO way complaining about as it is definitely necessary, but I just missed having some really good moments.

That's really the only reason I was a tad disappointed. Ms. Ione writes some of the best romantic couples and I was sad it took a major back seat to the plot.

If the author was trying to make her fans insane with emotional upheaval, then she definitely succeeded there.  I mean, I can't even say anything without spoiling it!

I have a serious book hangover.

I highly recommend this book for any fan of this serious.  But bring tissues and strong faith in the author to do right by our favorite characters.
