REVIEW: Redemption (Second Chance #4) By Kemmie Michaels

Book Four of the Second Chance Novels

Shelby Keene has lost touch…with her friends, her job, and even herself. She is swept along by life happening around her, until danger forces her further into a wild current beyond her control.

Even in the most dire of circumstance, a chance at love may redeem past mistakes and protect her from the terrifying threats against her.

From reading the first book I was waiting for Shelby and her story. So I was so excited to read this book finally. Shelby at first glance through the whole series is a big mystery.

Sexy, gorgous, smart, intelligent and nerdy as all hell. Such a big mystery for a woman in this group of friends.

She gets so lost after Mason breaks her heart and everyone continues to pair off and forget about her even her childhood best friend. She starts drinking and turning to meaningless sexual acts with dangerous strangers which is where she meets Dade who unknown to her is watching and trying to protect her. All she sees is that hes too scared to do anything with her and is keeping her from having fun.

Dade oh man he is one sexy big protective man. Full of honor and duty until he meets Shelby and sees how hurt and broken she is. He ends up breaking all the rules and doing everything he shouldnt to help her and be with her.

This story is full of action mystery and tons and tons of suprizes you absolutely cannot see coming. But its so worth the read.

REVIEW: Hard Hand By Sierra Cartwright

Having spent too many years living a life of deception, former undercover agent Cole Stewart demands one thing from his relationships—complete honesty.
Masked in mystery and draped in decadence, Avery Fisher has the courage to be with a man as dangerous and sexy as him. Cole would know the seductive and vulnerable Avery no matter how clever her disguise. But he will demand she reveal everything, not just her identity, but her true nature and the need for his dominance. She will learn Cole is not open to compromise...

What a wonderful little novella to read. I just absolutely loved this sexy smitten bdsm filled book. Such a teaser too I was expecting more and more chapters filled with more things to come from these two characters.

Having gone through a frustrating relationship with a judgmental dom Avery has some double reactions to the dom Cole that she met years prior to seeing him again at her aunts masquerade.

Cole knows what he wants and he knows avery immediately even though she uses a fake name with him and keeps a mask on for the night.

One night of pleasure and they both yearn for more but are too difficult to go after it immediately.

I absolutely loved this story

REVIEW: Rege's Rescue & Vordol's Vow By Dena Garson

Rege's rescue

Rege Rovnitov battled his way out of the darkest hell hole in the charted universe to become the best tracker in four galaxies. Fighting injustice, he and his brotherhood have spent their lives with one foot on the shady side of the law. When the daughter of one of his allies is abducted by slavers, he offers his skills to bring her home. On such a dark and dangerous mission, he never expected to find a woman full of goodness and light.

After years in the spotlight as an interstellar songbird, Amethe Madigan only wants to regain a normal life. Her plans are upended when a band of slavers take her captive and drag her to the galactic port known as Sin City. With Rege’s help, she narrowly escapes being sold to the highest bidder, or worse, turned over to whoever ordered her kidnapping. As they race across galaxies evading her mysterious abductor’s attempts to possess her, she makes the mistake of falling in love with a man whose idea of a normal life is anything but safe.

Rege promised to rescue Amethe but she could be his salvation from a dark and lonely existence. In the end it won’t matter who saved whom. Where love is concerned, it’s winner takes all.

In Rege’s Rescue, Rege and Amethe need to figure out how to do that too. We’ve all seen it. Two people who are obviously developing feelings for each other, but they think of a million reasons why it will never work. In Rege’s Rescue, it will take about 230 pages for the heroine and hero to figure out the payoff, but it is so worth watching them do it. In the meantime, Rege and Amethe will have some adventures, get into trouble and need saving. And repeat! The book is mostly romance, but there is a lot of fun and danger along the way.

Rege and Amethe are personality opposites. Rege is dark and, dare I say, brooding. Convinced his past has made him no good. Amethe is light and cheerful, despite the nasty situation she has gotten thrown into. She has had the advantage of having a family that has made sure her life has been decent. Amethe sees the good in everyone. Is this an opposites attract romance? I don’t think so. While Rege may be drawn to Amethe’s inherent goodheartedness, I don’t think Amethe is looking at Rege’s dark past. She sees the man who rescued her in the present.

This is a great new author in the fantasy scifi space type genre. I have never really read anything like this before. This is one amazing writer I look forward to reading more from.

vordals vow

A long time ago Vordol Silveira learned that if he wanted to become the best bodyguard in the galaxy he needed to keep everyone except his brothers at arm’s length. That vow served him well until he runs into the now grown-up daughter of his former mentor while working a security job aboard the LS Quantum.

Pitannah Lorento is a Quantum waitress who dreams of winning this year’s intergalactic burlesque competition in order to pay for her mother’s expensive medical treatment. Seeing Vordol again brings back years of unfulfilled desires – a distraction she doesn’t need. Yet, she’s no longer an awkward teenager and he is sexier than ever.

Vordol’s client’s safety has always come first but when Pitannah is threatened, his heart demands he make her priority. If he somehow manages to keep them both safe through the competition, his vow may become obsolete.

This was a great book in her series. Quite the elaborate story line following the previous book of hers i read.

Vordol and Pitannah are a complicated pair of friends/lovers.

Vordol is full of honor and sticking to his vow and what he needs to do until Pitannah comes along and starts distracting him from that task.

Pitannah has so many memories of being an awkward lovesick teenager over Vordol. SEeing him brings it all back to her.

Their love story strewn with action and adventure will keep u on ur toes.

A must read author..

REVIEW: Seekers (Mud, Rocks, and Trees Book 2) BY R. A. Denny

"Bring the seals together in Tzoladia and you will learn their secrets." An intriguing, yet simple quest. But nothing is ever that easy.

Killer monkeys lurk in the woods. Treacherous watchers skulk the underground tunnels. An evil emperor's minions control the archipelago city.

Brina is proficient in archery. Moshoi skillfully wields the swords he crafts. Amanki has mastered sailing. But those skills aren't enough. The three young adventurers must make choices. Choices that mean life or death. Choices with no safe answer.

The Society of the Word has given them tools: wise sayings, moral stories, mysterious prophecies. But their faith will be tested. Will the star guide them to their destiny or lead them to their doom? Who will survive?

This was a great expanse on Refugees. I enjoyed the great characters and their unique gifts. The story line keeps me coming back to read the next book...and the next book. I am excited to see what is next.

This book felt more evenly spread over the journeys of the 3, Amanaki, Brina and Moshoi.

Continuing the Mud, Rocks, and Trees series, the main characters, Amanki the Webby, Brina the Glider, and Moshoi the Armored, take the next leg of their respective journeys to the capital, Tzoladia. They all face grave dangers, which was not unexpected, but all of them wind up in situations they did not expect.

Moshoi and his younger brother, Tuka, discover disturbing things as they navigate the underground city of Trenggol near their home. Trying to do the right thing, they wake some of the sleepers there, only to find themselves blamed for the very outrages they are trying to alert the people to. When they are finally able to leave the city, they are still with one of the men of Trenggol who is looking for vengeance for his dead wife. They encounter what they had thought was a mythical beast, and things don’t go at all the way you think they should.

Amanki also encounters a mythical beast – after witnessing many disturbing things in the Webby capital city of Waduk.

Brina and her friend Barque travel with one of the youngsters through the Vargarian Woods. After the Lion Rider, Metlan stops his lion from attacking the boy when he thoughtlessly dives to the ground after a toy, Brina attaches the net he has been caged in to the “high line” the Gliders are using to transport their supplies to keep him from being left behind for the lormonkeys. But was she right to trust him?

It seems like none of them are making much progress toward Tzoladia until suddenly, and not always in what looks like the best way, they are.

If you love great world-building and adventure stories, I'd pick up this series and start reading it.

This is a must read for adults and young adults alike it is a wonderful world that this author has created and I absolutely cannot wait to read more in the series.

REVIEW: Return (Second Chance #2) by Kemmie Michaels

*Intended for an adult audience*

Second Chance Novels book 2

For Mason, every smile is forced. Every joke represents effort. Bartending stands as a calculated decision to be a regular guy. In spite of his best efforts, life at such an easy pace is painful…because Mason was raised on a diet of crushing adrenaline and fierce, strategical thinking. His time in the Special Forces ended two years prior, but his drive and skill remained the strongest part of his being.

When his skills are needed again, Mason wakes up from a two-year haze and rescues the damsel. Mission accomplished. Victory had.

…Devastation returns.

Mason has no idea how to return to his everyday existence, not after flexing every strength he'd pushed aside. The simple truth is he can't. Balance, he decides, is the key: remain his joke-cracking self with his friends, and indulge in some ass-kicking on the side.

Together with Sofia 'Dig' DiGiacamo, Mason plans to eliminate every point of corruption they can uncover. A life of purpose fills him again, but the pressure threatens to rip him painfully apart. The turmoil stirs ugly memories of his Army career, adding an explosive element to his world.

Every day he fights corruption, every evening he fights himself. But still, Mason grits his teeth and grins. He's determined to keep his life, love, past, shame, desperate need, and suppressed anger all hidden behind his smiling, regular guy, bartender self. His fight remains an unending circle, and Mason battles on every front.

Mason oh man I kept rooting for him and through his struggles with himself and his relationship at the begining of the book. He so didnt want to hurt his girlfriend and lose his friends in the process but his feelings for Sophia and wanting to be the real him not the fake him are causing him to war with himself so much.

Sofia is such a strong woman so full of courage and determinations even after all the hurt and pain she has gone through. How she struggles with doing what right and trying to keep her feeling for mason to herself.

These two are so perfect for eachother.

I wont lie when he cheats on his girlfriend and breaks her heart i cried so hard it was heartbreaking and then his full breakdown afterwards because of the guilt of what he had done. So very very powerful.

I just love this author and cant wait to read the next in this series.

Mother of Two Boys...
My husband and I have been married for 18 years and are blessed with two amazing young men. They are 11 and 13 right now, and both are on very different parts of the autism spectrum. I've learned so much being their mom and I feel pretty lucky to have become part of a community of loving, understanding people.

Romance Novelist...
I've always loved to write. I've written for newspapers and magazines, also a host of personal projects. Then in December of 2012 I was reading on my first Kindle, gobbling up romances left and right. That's when I fell in love with Raine Miller's Ethan Blackstone, by the way.

I was inspired to sit down and write. Three years later, I've published eight books, written another, and started on two more. Feel free to contact me at kemmieauthor@gmail.com. Happy reading!
