REVIEW: Taken Last Chance Series - Book 3 By A.L. Long

Alannah’s life was right on track. She knew what it meant to love and be loved. All of that changes when Winston Nelson steps back into her life and takes away everything she longed for. Hidden away where no one can to find her, Alannah once again has to submit to the man she swore would never control her again. Day by day, the hopes of a normal life begin to disappear along with her desire to live.

Third in a great series of lifestyle themed mysteries. Lanie is something else shes starts showing Roman that she has a mind and will use it and needs to know what is going on especially if it involves her.

Nelson's son is more dangerous than his father and ends up threatening Roman and kidnapping Lanie. They find out many things about the sick and twisted son of the man that tortured Lanie her entire life.

This is a big page turner.Full of love and emotion, along with action and adventure. You start trying to figure out who the bad guy is and what will happen next.

My only complaint is that this authors novels arnt all that long.

Award winning author of the Independent Press Award for Distinguishing Favorite. Recipient of the National Indie Excellence award for Erotica Romance.

My love for writing began several years ago after an early retirement from a demanding job that I loved, but also hated because it consumed so much of my time. Now, I am able to focus my time on what I love. Writing romance has been a life long dream and to actually say that I am a published author is beyond what I would have ever expected.

Even though some may say I have a little naughtiness in my books, I look at it as an added bonus for my readers. After all what is a romance book without a little spice.

When I am not writing, I enjoy spending time with friends either at home or out on the town. Mostly, I enjoy a relaxing night at home where I can enjoy a glass of wine in the company of a good book.

REVIEW: The Four Suitors by Sophie Jupillat Posey

Being courted by four suitors to claim the crown wasn't part of this princess's plan.
Quick-witted and confident, Princess Laetitia of Avaritia always gets what she wants—until her 17th nameday ball. The King and Queen, believing marriage will rein in their daughter’s rebellious nature, surprise the Princess with not one, but four suitors: a philosopher, an astronomer, an artist and a necromancer.

If Laetitia can’t learn at least one suitor’s craft and prove herself to be a worthy wife, she will lose her crown—the one thing she cares about most. Laetitia irks her suitors as much as she can while learning as little as possible about them—and their so-called “crafts.”

But when she and Sir Blaxton resurrect one of the many peasants who have died recently from an unprecedented disease, the corpse’s cryptic words about his death set them on a race to find answers: What is the disease? How is it spreading so quickly? And why is it affecting only the peasants?

As Laetitia tries to find answers, she uncovers a web of corruption with a stranglehold on her kingdom. Like it or not, she’s going to need the help of all four of her suitors—even if they end up putting their own lives on the line.

This was a really unique interesting novel. I expected because of the title for it to be completely different and possibly raunchy. But it wasn't it was a very clean cut action, fantasy, romance novel set it a fantasy royalty era.

Laetitia is such a  unique and amazing Princess. She is strong yet a big troublemaker. She is spoiled and doesn't mind anyone's rules or demands of her. That is until her parents force her into learning from four different suitors and whoever she learns the best from will be her husband to be and the king of the kingdom.

This is full of action and intrigue with what is going on in her kingdom. The peasants start dying, her parents start losing their mind and doing strange things. Laetitia knows something is wrong and is trying to save and correct the wrongs in her kingdom.

Things go vastly wrong and nothing makes sense anymore. This is a very sad novel in parts with happenings going on to certain characters.

I really loved this authors writing style and how this wasn't just a short book it has some serious depth and length to it.

I will definitely be looking for more books from this author.

A must read

REVIEW: Slaved (Last Chance Series) By A.L. Long

Extraordinary Erotic Romance Suspense of Love and Deception
Rescued from the only life she had ever known, Alannah Jackson learns what it means to be loved and not controlled. Finally able to let go of her past she begins a new life with the man who has shown her what love is. Faced with the truth, Alannah finds she can never escape her past or who she is. She will never love, only serve.

Roman’s love for Alannah is tested when he finds that she has been slaved by a man just as ruthless as Winston Nelson. Against his better judgement, he accepts Martin Holland’s offer to help retrain Alannah and he begins to question the love they shared. After Martin Holland makes it clear of his intentions, Roman stops at nothing to get her back. There is no room for another man in her life.

Book 2 in Lanie's story is amazing I absolutely couldn't put it down.In this second installment roman is detained by the cops and Winston steals Lanie and sells her to Martin. Such a wild turn of events.

This story is full of twists turns suprizes and things you cannot imagine.

I went back and forth probably 5 times with if I likes Martin or not. Trying to decide if he was a dubious character or a decent one that bad stuff had happened to.

Roman does not disappoint by any means with trying to find his love. Compromising with roman and then facing off with Stewart and Roman in the end for Lanie's safety.

Looking forward to reading the last in this trilogy.

If you like your decade to rock, your demons to bite, and your girls to kick it, then you are going to love this unforgettable story of Rachel as she faces off against The Fergus She.

Buy this book, now, and then hang on! You're about to take a wild ride.

The cover is what caught my eye with this book and boy am i sure glad it did. This was a wonderful unexpected find. Full of dark paranormal mystery, intrigue and a unique love story to boot.

Rachel is a long line of women whose DNA carries a fiend a demon a vampire whatever you want to call it. But she only get loose on the world every third generation and when the human woman meets a certain man that his family is cursed to couple with her.

Angus oh man what a sexy beast he is. Tall, gorgeous, muscled and with an amazing Scottish accent to boot. But he has a secret that is dangerous to Rachel. Hes keeping things he knows about her and their destiny to himself and its manipulating and bad. Im not really sure how I feel about him because of that.

Lennox is honest and tries to help Rachel but it doesn't end well for him and I am honestly sad about that.

This is an amazing story, full of twists and turns and unexpected suprizes for all the characters. There are gaps in the story that I hope are just a teaser for the next book about Rachel and I cannot wait to read.

The wind had been whipping around all morning. If I hadn’t known better, I would have thought that I was in the Arctic instead of Oregon. There wasn’t very much that I could see through my small window, but it was big enough to see that the bare branches of the oak tree that had died long ago were swinging in the wind. Not many people came to visit the mansion since I began living here fourteen years ago. But in the last six months no one came to visit at all. At first, I thought it might have been due to the change in weather, but then Master Winston said it was because I didn’t live up to their expectations and therefore, I was of no interest to them. He blamed it on my inability to learn and lack of obedience.

Moving away from the window, I ducked my head and wandered over to my small bed, which was nestled in the corner of the space that was my room. Pulling the covers over my body, I tried to keep warm. The attic was very poorly insulated and the exposed beams that held the rafters were proof. Sometimes it had gotten so cold that I could see my breath. I found the best way to keep warm was to pull the covers up over my head and trap the warmth of my breath beneath them.  As much as I hated this room, I hated what waited for me on the other side of the door when Master Winston came to call even more.

Closing my eyes, I let my mind wander. As I slowly began to fall asleep, I imagined myself as the fairytale princess who was locked in the attic by her evil stepfather, waiting to be rescued by a handsome prince. I knew the chance of ever being rescued would be slim to none, but just the thought of it actually happening was something that I would never stop hoping for. I wished that things could be as they were when I was younger. I would give anything to be together with my father again. So much time had passed since I’d seen him that every day that went by, my thoughts of him were dimmer. I feared that soon I would forget him all together. I wasn’t sure if it he would even be able to find me. Last Chance, Oregon, was just that, and not many people came here. I don’t think many people knew about this out-of-the-way town, at least not anyone who cared.

“Push me higher, Daddy, I want to go higher and fly like the birds.”

“Lanie, if I push you any higher you are going to fall.”

“I won’t, Daddy. I promise to hold on tight.”

The warm wind felt so good against my skin. I loved my new swing set. It was pink and purple and had two swings, a slide, and a Roman glider. It was the perfect gift for my fifth birthday. I knew why my dad had put in so many hours at work. It was so that he could buy me this swing set. Pumping my legs harder, I could feel myself going higher and higher. It was as though I could reach the birds above me.

Letting go of the chain, I reached out to touch one. It was so close, but not close enough. I felt myself falling from the swing. Instead of hitting the ground as I should have, I was sent spiraling into a pit of fire.

This is  a wonderful start to a series of books. At the first chapter I thought I was going to be reading an era book just the way the author described the details of the mansion Lanie lived in.

Lanie such a sheltered timid character that is so innocent and has no clue about life and the outside world or even what happened to get her there. I love her and reading about her story and what she deals with emotionally is wonderful.

Roman oh man I love him, even though he is a dominant he is sweet and caring unlike the other dom in this book and I love that it really shows the differences in doms out there.

A great romantic suspense read with a lil naughty aspect to it.

Engrossing and well written by this wonderful author. I have never read this author but I was pleasantly suprized with her writing style and creativity. I will definitely be reading the rest in this series and more of her books later on.
