REVIEW: The Cloverleaf Series, Single In Seattle( Reeling In Love), Falling For Grace and The Pass Through By Gloria Herrmann

 The Cloverleaf Series

Loving Liam (Cloverleaf # 1)

Rachel Montgomery's family doesn't think she can change-but she's going to prove them wrong...

What could be more out of character for overly-cautious Rachel than moving sight unseen to the small town of Birch Valley to become the principal of the town's only elementary school? When she arrives late on her first day, she realizes no one was expecting her, leading to conflict with the staff-and particularly with one handsome, emerald-eyed fourth grade teacher.

Liam O'Brien's life is simple and easygoing, just the way he likes it-until he shows up for school following the holiday break...

Not only is his new boss the rude woman who stole his parking spot, she's highly motivated to switch things up in his very traditional school, and Liam is not a fan of change. His inexplicable attraction to the petite blonde complicates matters, as Rachel is adamant that she didn't move all the way to Birch Valley to get involved in any kind of romance.

But as conflicts are resolved, family ties might draw Liam and Rachel together...

Rachel discovers Liam's family is loving and supportive, particularly his mother Mary-unlike Rachel's own mother. She bonds with his brothers and his sister Maggie, and it almost seems too good to be true.

Can they work through their differences and compromise enough to build a lasting relationship?

Or will Rachel be unable to let her guard down long enough to take a chance on...

Loving Liam

What a great start to the Cloverleaf series. I have to say I just loved reading these books for this author. She is a truly amazing writer and the story just flows so eloquently.

OH Liam how can you not love him a cute sweet adorable teacher who adores his family. Strong and independent.

Then comes Rachel the new Principal at his school. What a combative match they make haha. I just love how Liam is emediately annoyed and irritated by her lol.

They are definitely drawn to eachother and a strong willed match made in heaven for sure. This book made me laugh and giggle.

I am more than excited to move onto the next book

Maggie's Marriage (Cloverleaf # 2)

Marriage is hard work, but no one ever told Maggie it would be this hard…

How did life end up so completely turned upside down? When Maggie Tremblye took her vows more than six years ago, she didn’t anticipate becoming just a wife, just a mother, and no longer…Maggie.

It’s impossible to cling to the bit of self-identity you have left when you’re someone’s everything…

Meeting and falling in love with Michael Trembley, a young and handsome attorney, was the easy part. Moving away from her family, raising their six-year-old daughter almost singlehandedly, and learning she is now pregnant again is an entirely a different story. All she wants to do is retreat back home to Birch Valley and her loud and loving family, the O’Briens. So when Maggie hits her breaking point, she takes their daughter and reluctantly leaves Michael to his endless hours at the office.

To be on top, you have to make sacrifices…

Michael Trembley wants to be the best—the best corporate defense attorney, the best son, dad, and husband—but he falls short in the last two on his list of priorities. Now his perfect world is anything but. The distance from his family is a major wakeup call, but what is he willing to sacrifice to make it right?

The journey of life is full of twists and turns. Will Maggie and Michael survive this bump in the road, or will their perfect idea of a family fall completely apart?

This is the second book in the series and I suggest you read book 1 first as some many of each story is told in all the books. Maggie and Michael are having problems within their marriage. Maggie has had enough and decides to go back to Birch Valley as she is tired of being away from her family and feeling neglected by her husband. This is a wonderful story that is filled with emotion

Welcome back to Birch Valley, the place where nothing is perfect, but love conquer all!

What I really liked about this book is that the story and the characters feels real, and it's easy to relate to.

This book shows a huge growth in the authors writing, along with more passion for her work.

Patrick's Promise (Cloverleaf # 3)

Promises are meant to be kept—but Patrick O’Brien is too numb with grief…

Patrick hasn’t been able to move past the loss of his wife, who died while delivering his twin boys—Finn and Connor. While life continues around him, he is left in a state of emotional suspension, unable to honor his final vow to his wife and move on after she is gone.

Faking it only goes so far…

Always known as the moody older brother, Patrick maintains his distance from his overbearing but loving family. He’s barely coping, but still finds a way to be the best father he can to his sons.

Amber Miller returns home and finds more than the small town she left behind…

With her son in tow, Amber reluctantly returns to Birch Valley when her parents ask for help. Their well-known diner, Herrick’s, is a staple in the community. But more than that, her father is ill, and they need the extra set of hands to keep the place going.

Lonely hearts attract…

When Patrick and Amber cross paths, their instant attraction catches both off guard. Working through their own kinds of grief, the two must figure out what they want for their future—even if it’s not each other.

Losing someone you love is devastating, but learning to love again comes with its own challenges.

Is he strong enough to risk his heart? Or will running from love be the ultimate betrayal of Patrick’s Promise?

As we learn more about the most troubled O'Brien brother, we learn of his heartache of losing the woman he loved side by side with becoming a new father. So, seeing his brothers and sister settling down on the previous books was bound to stir up emotions!

Amber is a hard working mom trying to rasie her son and help her sickly parents out all while dealing with grief and loss. She is an amazing character and she comes at such a perfect time to meet Patrick who is dealing with and going through so much because of losing his wife and having to raise his boys alone.

amazing

Dating Daniel (Cloverleaf # 4)

Daniel O’Brien wants what all his siblings have found…love.

Everyone in the O’Brien family has found their someone. That is, everyone except fun-loving Daniel. The last single O’Brien wants nothing more than to find the right girl, settle down, and start a family. After all, his siblings make the happily ever after thing look pretty appealing. Finding the right girl isn’t as easy as it sounds, though. At least, not in Birch Valley.

Hannah Belsky has come to terms that finding the perfect guy is merely a fantasy…

Hannah loves nothing more than a quiet morning on the farm with one of her many romance novels. She’s a sucker for a good happily ever after. Someday she hopes to find her own. It doesn’t seem likely, though, not when her family needs her. She’s been the head of the Belsky household and resident mom to her little sister since she was a teen, and the family farm isn’t going to run itself.

Sometimes love is right in front of you, just waiting to be seen…

Daniel’s been trying to date Hannah’s littler sister Nina for months. Trying being the operative word. Nina is like that odd piece that won’t fit no matter how hard he tries to squeeze her into his family puzzle. But then there is Hannah. Ever since the day he gave her a ride home, he can’t stop thinking about her. Their easy friendship and undeniable chemistry could easily turn into something more. Maybe even the something they’ve both been searching for.

Will Hannah finally take a chance on the grand love she’s spent years reading about, or will doubt and the burden of responsibility keep her from…

Dating Daniel?

Daniel has watched everyone of his siblings find love and happiness. Liam and Rachel are expecting. Maggie and Michael are having a little one. Even the dark and brooding Patrick has found new love with Amber.
Daniel just wants to be loved and have what his parents and all his siblings have. He thinks he has found it with Nina Belsky but it sure doesn't seam like they have much in common.

That's what he thinks or sees that they have nothing in common that he knows of.

The author did a great job of telling Daniels story, all while keeping us updated on the other siblings and family members lives. A close knit family it would be impossible to not want to know what they are up to!Although these books are small town clean romance, Gloria did an amazing job showing us the passion between Daniel and Hannah.

This was an amazing finish to this four book series. Giving each O'Brian a happily ever after

Falling for Grace

Grace’s family didn’t exactly get into the Christmas spirit, and she was dying to see what all the fuss was about. She wanted to drown herself in eggnog and hot chocolate, stuff herself full of sugar cookies and gingerbread. Grace longed to sing carols and sneak sweet kisses under the mistletoe. Didn’t she deserve a chance at a little holiday romance?
More than anything, she wanted to experience the most wonderful time of the year, even if that meant she had to escape Hell. The consequences just might be worth it.

Aidan was dreading the holidays. After a year filled with heartbreak, all that holly jolly nonsense wasn’t offering much appeal. Scrooge had the right idea to work straight through the Christmas season. A veterinarian in downtown Seattle, Aidan would much rather spend the holidays with his furry patients. But, his sister has other plans for him.
When he unexpectedly crosses paths with a pretty blonde, he is suddenly filled with more than the Christmas spirit. Is his heart ready to love someone so special?

The holidays are about to become very merry.

This was a cute little holiday romance. I really enjoyed reading it.

Grace and Aidan are complete opposites with lots and lots in common reguarding the holidays and how they feel about it and how they want it to go.

I really feel for Aidan and what he has gone through in the past year. How it keeps dragging him down and down and how the holidays are just breaking his heart more and more.

The Pass Through

Maybe a wild ride in a shiny black Mustang convertible, and some mother-daughter bonding is exactly what Dr. Kathryn Bailey needs, when she agrees to a road trip with her mother. Escaping the aftermath of a nasty breakup, and seeking to heal her broken heart, Kathryn has no idea what awaits her in the forested mountains of Elk Horn, WA.

While traveling back to her favorite childhood destination, a run-in with the sexy town sheriff sets Kathryn on an unexpected course; one that may very well change her life, especially after becoming witness to something only spoken of in the hushed voices of local legend.

When a horrific event rocks the sleepy, rural town, only days after her arrival, Kathryn is immediately drawn into a mystical world of sacred legend and folklore. Suddenly, she must question not only her eyes, but her beliefs.

As she comes to terms with these newfound experiences, will she come to know that with love, believing isn’t always seeing?

This was a suprizingly different type of story for  Gloria to have written and I absolutely loved it to pieces.

I adore anything to do with the supernatural or the spirit world and this brought it to the characters in an unexpected way.

And that Sherriff oye vey. If there was a fanning acting to describe my attraction to that character i would so do it.

I just love that this author showed so much range in going from roamnces to this sexy spiritual thriller.

Single In Seattle(Reeling In Love # 1)

Capturing life’s moments...
Snap. Click. Snap. Molly steered clear of anything that didn’t have her behind the lens of her trusty camera. That was her passion, her love, and her life. Being an award winning photographer that created countless book covers for authors all over the world had its perks...half naked men for starters. Always looking, but never touching. Mixing business with pleasure was a big no-no in her line of work.

Unlike the romance covers her shots are used for, Molly can’t picture herself having a happily ever after.

Friendship is everything...
Focusing on work and failing at romance was all Molly knew how to do. Luckily she had Friendship Friday to look forward to with her two best friends, Emma and Mackenzie. They were her sisters from other misters and her everything.

The bond that Molly shares with her besties is unbreakable, but when life throws something fishy Molly’s way, she worries that she will lose their precious friendship forever.

Coffee is a girl’s best friend...
Molly is a hardcore caffeine addict, coffee isn’t just a drink, it’s a way of life.

Finding the perfect cup of coffee in Seattle is easy, finding a guy, not so much, unless that guy finds you…in the most unexpected way.

Love and other indoor sports…
There are plenty of fish in the sea, but what happens when you get clobbered by one? Literally. Molly finds herself being the catch of the day in Seattle’s Pike Place Fish Market.

After meeting Logan, a sexy fisherman, with stormy gray eyes, everything changes. Not ready to take the plunge and dive into this romance, Molly finds herself barely keeping above water, as she swims in a sea of new emotions and wild love. Molly isn’t so sure she is cut out for this relationship, but Logan sets out to prove that fate has him Reeling in Love.

Will Logan and Molly sail off into the sunset or will Molly be the one that got away, only to stay...Single in Seattle.

Single in Seattle: A Story about Friendship and Finding Love in the Emerald City (Book One: Reeling in Love) was a fantastic read.

This is my seventh book I've read from this author and she is amazing at what she does.

Molly had everything a 30 something woman could want - a career as a photographer to some of the most gorgeous models, a studio to shoot them in with a killer view & best friends who'd do anything for her. The only thing missing from her picture perfect life is a guy to share it with!

So when she visits the Pike Place fish market the last thing she expects is to be hit by a flying fish!

But when it happens, the tosser apologises but Molly doesn't hear or see anything more than her dream man with hypnotic gray eyes.

Logan has a challenge on his hand. From the moment he hit Molly with that fish, call it fate or a serendipitous moment, he knows Molly is it for him! All he has to do is convince her.

Author interview for Gloria Herrmann by Coffee Addict Book Reviews

1.What inspired you to become a writer?

When I was growing up I admired authors like, Judy Blume, Beverly Cleary and too many to name. I wanted to create that kind of magic. I wrote short stories and poems as a kid. I devoured books and found myself more in love with the idea of becoming a writer. When I was in high school and college I wanted to write the next Great American novel but then life had other plans. Marriage, kids and just life, in general, got in the way of all my grand plans. Then in the fall of 2014, my dad got deathly sick, had a stroke, and ended up becoming a kidney dialysis patient. He was only fifty-four at the time. His illness was sudden, completely blindsided our family, and opened my eyes that we only have so much time here and if I really wanted to write that book, I’d better get on it. I did and wrote Loving Liam by the end of the spring of 2015 and sent it out to any publisher who would read it. I was offered several contracts and ultimately, I chose an offer that included a four-book deal. The realization that our lives can change in the blink of an eye was my motivation for becoming an author.

2.What authors were influential in your passion in writing?

I was heavily inspired by talented authors like Debbie Macomber and I think it shows in The Cloverleaf Series where my love for sweet romances stem from. Debbie Macomber writes romances that are heartwarming and are easy to escape into. I’ve read every single one of her books and I always suggest her books to my friends. You just feel good after reading those kinds of love stories…and I hope I can make readers feel that way.

3.How many books have you written?

I’ve written over 12 in the last year and a half. My tenth books will be released this fall but I hope to release a few projects before then. I’m currently involved in a number of stories, including two anthologies for charity. You don’t want to know how long my WIP list is…but that’s a good problem to have in this industry.

4.What kinds of books have you written?

I write a mix- everything from a feel-good Hallmark movie style romance to paranormal. I’ve even tried my hand at chick-lit erotica. I love stories that continue long after the first book…that’s why I tend to write series. I have a difficult time saying goodbye to my characters.

5.What kind of books would you like to write in the future?

I have plans for a few paranormal and suspense stories. No matter how much I try to steer away, I always come back to writing sweet and heartfelt romances. I’m all about those butterflies of new love and a heartfelt happily ever after.

6.Tell us a little bit about what inspired you to write the
Cloverleaf series?
My family. We’re a very close bunch and I think it reflects a great deal in this series. Family is the main focus and that immeasurable amount of love that siblings and parents have despite the crap that life throws at us. Then there is the element of quaint small towns. I wanted to show the simple goodness one can find in rural communities.

7.Who was your favorite character to write and why?

Gosh, this is a difficult one to answer. I love all the characters and they all have a special place in my heart for various reasons. But that Mary O’Brien…she’s the glue that holds the family together. I love her to pieces! At my last book signing, I provided the recipe for her banana-nut muffins she’s famous for (Okay, I’m famous for them where I live. A writer always puts a little piece of themselves in their characters.) and readers would now love to see it printed in the books. Well, dang…we just may have to do that!

8.What was your favorite book in the Cloverleaf series? Loving
Liam, Maggie's Marriage, Patrick's Promise or Dating Daniel?
I loved writing Maggie’s Marriage. I wanted to show readers that marriage is hard work and sometimes it does seem easier just to throw it away than to try to fix it. Writing Dating Daniel was hard because I was saying goodbye to the O’Brien family. Every book up to that point had everyone’s POV except on-Mary O’Brien. I felt like the reality that this series was finished hit home when I wrote through her POV. However, we’re not quite done and to answer a question I keep getting from readers, yes, there will be a story for Chelsea!

9.What are your favorite genres of books to read personally?

I’m a die-hard romance reader! I love anything that is a romance: contemporary, chick-lit, sweet, erotic, suspense, paranormal…you name it. Honestly, I’m open to reading just about any kind of book. I get into big trouble when I go to the library. It’s like when someone visits the dog pound and can’t say no to all those adorable pups. That’s me at a bookstore or library. It’s not just limited to me; my children have inherited my book obsession and they each have full bookcases because their mom can’t seem to resist books!

10.Is there anybody in your life that has inspired your writing
style?
I think authors like Debbie Macomber, Nora Roberts, and Brenda Novak all sort of influenced my writing style a tad. The realness of life all wrapped up in a heartwarming sweetness, how could I not want to write like that? I could even say that authors like, Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary also influenced me at a young age. Their books hit on what I was experiencing as a kid, they totally understood real feelings, and I try to do anytime I’m writing.

11.Are there any books you have that are a work in progress that
we should be excited and waiting for?
My WIP list is several miles long. I have a lot of stuff planned and am currently working on a few projects. One that I’m very excited about is a holiday anthology for charity. It’s my first cowboy novel and I’m loving this story…it just may be a sneak peek into another series I’m working on. I’m also working on the first books for a few new romantic series: Curl Up and Dye and The Married Ever After Series. I find myself gravitating back to my Cloverleaf roots and writing more sweet romances. Single in Seattle was my first chick-lit erotica and I really enjoyed writing that series but I love the heartwarming Hallmark movie style romances I’ve been known for. The Pass Through was my first stand-alone novel and it was also fairly dark. I do have some plans for a few paranormal and suspense novels. Then there is Somebody’s Son that everyone keeps asking me about. I hit a few snags when I had decided to write that three-book military series. Several people wanted to co-author or become involved and it got a little complicated. So, I took a step back and wrote a few other books. I’m constantly thinking about this book and know that I have to write it. Timing is everything.
All in all, I have a crap ton of stories that I hope to write…definitely a great problem to have in my line of work!

12.What do you do in your spare time when you are not writing amazing novels?

I love movies and binge watching stuff on my DVR. I also spend a lot of time with my family. It’s all about finding some balance in life. Notice how I didn’t immediately say Facebook? We all know that’s where authors who should be writing are on. When I go into full blown procrastination mode, like say when a deadline is approaching, I tend to hide out on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

13.Do you have any advice for an aspiring author?

I have few bits of wisdom I’d like to share. No matter what, just keep writing. Read, read, and read some more. Stephen King tells all writers that reading is the key and he’s right. The challenge comes long after you’ve become a writer and then start to compare your work to others. You have to somehow switch back into reader mode. The awesome thing about reading after you’ve published is that you can learn a great deal. You can see all the different ways that books can be written and it should inspire you to keep at it. I always found it fueled my desire to write. Anytime I watch a Hallmark movie now, my brain is suddenly alive with even more ideas.
Also, think about why it is that you want to become an author. Is it for fame and fortune? Good luck there, pal. Is it because those voices won’t stop unless you type, or could it be that you see movie-like images playing in your head all the time? Welcome to the club, you are a writer. That’s almost as cool as being told you’re a wizard. (Insert cheesy Harry Potter reference here.) Do it because you want to. Because the passion for writing consumes you. Dedicate time to hone your craft and don’t be afraid to reach out for help. Have your friends and family read your work when you want an ego boost, but have betas read your work when you want to know the truth. The book community can be a wonderful means of support for new and experienced writers. Be an active in encouraging and helping other authors. Be kind.

14.How long have you been writing?

I’ve been writing since I was a kid. It started out with short stories and poems, then it developed into novels within the last year and a half. I’ve always had ideas for stories but never really put it down until 2015 when I finally took the publishing plunge!

15.How did you start out?

It all began on a rainy night on March, 15th 1980… Just kidding. As I mentioned earlier, I decided to finally write a book in 2015. I had no clue what I was doing or what to expect. I pretty much used Facebook for my Candy Crush addiction. I had no idea about our incredible book community. I knew next to nothing about publishing and when I completed my very first manuscript, I simply sent it out to any publisher with an email who accepted submissions. I didn’t hire an agent, an editor, or beta readers. I just hit send and held my breath. I was offered a contract the very next day, then another, and another. Panic mode set in. I was a complete newbie and ignorant when it came to contracts. I finally accepted a four-book deal about a month later. So, I wrote one book…but now I had to come up with the next three. I didn’t think I’d get that far. Yet, I wrote those next three books within the next eight months and had completed my obligation. I decided to write another story and landed a three-book deal with a different slightly larger publisher. Again, no agent, no editor, just little ol’ me. I found that I seem to get the hang of query letter and synopsis writing, though it’s not my favorite thing in the world to do, I’m pretty decent at it. I had some time to kill in between books and decided to write a fun and quirky holiday book. Well, that turned into another series, two of the three are completed. I chose to go “indie” on those titles and dip my toe in to see how it felt. The indie waters felt pretty good and led me to write and release another book- The Pass Through. I received several offers from publishers to sign but I wanted to see how successful I could make this indie book. It hit #1 in Native American and Paranormal Literature on Amazon…not too shabby.

16.Do you have anything else to tell your avid readers?

You bet I do! I want to express how truly grateful I am to everyone who reads and reviews books. They are the blood of our book community and responsible for helping any author’s career thrive. I love being able to do what I do, I’m beyond blessed to have met so many wonderful people, and I plan to keep on doing this until I have no words left to write.

REVIEW: Resisting My Submission (The Doms Of Genesis) By Jenna Jacob

Synopsis
They say first impressions mean everything. Either Maximus “Max” Gunn didn’t get the memo or he didn’t care. The gorgeous, muscle-bound Dominant’s assumption that I, Mistress Sammie, was a submissive set my blood boiling. I wanted to drive the toe of my coveted Louis Vuitton stilettos between his legs—and bring him to his knees. But anger wasn’t the only burning emotion Max ignited inside me. The potent sexual attraction we share threatened to burn me alive, too. Unwilling to cede our Dominance, the battle for control raged like a third world war, both in and out of the dungeon. It would take a coup d'état for love to conquer our drive to command. But when Max learns the secrets of my past, and attempts to heal my scars, I don’t know if I’ll be able to still the battle…or fall willingly to my knees.

Such a wonderfully well written book. I absolutely couldn't put it down from the moment I started it, I read it all day until i had finished it. Its just that amazing and compelling of a story. It even had me in tears because of Samantha's story.

Sammie aka Samantha. Is such a strong wonderfully beautiful character with so much depth and pain that she has locked up.Her story and why she has gone from Sub to Mistress and back again
is truly heartfelt. The tragedy she has dealt with is what brought me to tears reading this novel.

I have to admit my favorite character by far is Max. He sees what she really is from the second he meets her and pushes her boundaries and gets under her skin. Their automatic charismatic
attraction just tears them both apart.

Jenna Jacob is an absolutely amazing and tantalizing author.  I have read quite a few of her books, I am never disappointed. She creates theses amazing worlds looking through to the BDSM lifestyle. Each book has its own unique and wonderful story that you become drenched in and attached to.

This is a must read for anyone that likes romance, bdsm, or military novels as it has all three combined into one amazing book.
