REVIEW: Fighting The Lies (Glacial Blood Series) By Anna Edwards

The cage door closes on Emma Bryant’s freedom after she is arrested for a brutal murder that she did not commit. The tough-talking lioness knows the penalty she faces is death. Can she repel all of the lies in order to survive? Scott Frazier is always the joker. Beneath the golden lion’s mane is hidden a secret that just might save the woman he’s known to be his future mate since the first time he saw her. The blood of kings runs through him. Will he make the ultimate sacrifice to save the one he loves? Fighting the Lies is the sequel to The Touch of Snow; the paranormal romance that had non-readers converting to the genre. It continues the story of the Glacial Blood pack as they strive to save a member from the horrific position she finds herself in. But the story isn’t that simple, not when Nuka Lincoln is around, and an impending storm threatens the world as they know it. The Glacial Blood world is full of intrigue, suspense and kick arse fights. It also features a secret that should remain untold. A family isn’t always blood; it’s the people in your life that accept you for what you are.
Amazingly wonder novel my first book of Anna Edwards I have read and I couldn't put it down I read it in under 4 hours.

Absolutely wonderful this book is full of witches, shape shifters not just wolves but polar bears, wolves, lions, humans and other creatures that are just completely amazing. I loved it and look forward to reading more in this series.

Emma Bryant is a stubborn reluctant lion that Scott Frazier is completely in love with.
Emma resists the urge to be with any lion after seeing how her father a lion treated women in her past. Promises to her mother whom she thinks is long dead and a murder accusation of someone she hasn't seen since she was four years old.

Scott what a feisty amazing character I just love him and his determined nature to be with the woman he loves even if he has to sacrifice his freedom to secure hers.

This is a must read for anyone that loves the shifter books this has so many different shifters that it opens you up to so many different shifter worlds its amazing.

REVIEW: Vanish By Becca J. Campbell

Eva has two secrets. The second is that she periodically vanishes into thin air.

Usually, Eva’s spontaneous disappearances last only a few minutes, but on the day of her high school graduation, she vanished for nearly ten years. For a decade she was invisible and intangible—unable to be felt or seen or heard. She can’t imagine a worse torture than standing on the outside looking in.

Now she’s back, but it’s not enough to be tangible once again. Eva needs to find a way to stop vanishing permanently. Which is why she’s facing her ten-year class reunion—and her ex-boyfriend. The clue to stopping her disappearances must be tied to him, intertwined with their past. Unfortunately, approaching him is awkward-level five billion, considering he broke up with her ten years ago.

When Eva starts getting threatening texts from an unknown source, she realizes the reunion has just gotten even more complicated. Especially when she discovers that source has found out about her second, worse secret.

In order to find the key to stop her vanishing, Eva must battle grudge-wielding friends, relentless old crushes, and a classmate with a vendetta against her. And, in the meantime, hope she doesn’t vanish again. Because somebody wants her gone for another ten years.

Vanish is a sweet romance with a fantastical twist. It’s the perfect blend of Magical Realism and Romance. If you enjoy charmingly quirky characters, a love story that will tug on your heartstrings, and an emotionally rich storyline, download this book today.

Oh my what an amazing read for a lazy Sunday. I have to admit I am an avid reader and fan of Becca's books. She is a really amazing writer and every book of hers I have absolutely loved And been enthralled with and this standalone novel is no different. I sat and read it for a few hours and I just adored all the amazing characters and the twists and turns the author added to this novel.

A must read for anyone that loves books with a little supernatural romance.

Eva what a frusterated woman full of secrets. She goes back to her 10th high school reunion to find someone to help her with her special gift that she thought for years has helped her. But fate has other things in mind when she goes to see her ex boyfriend that broke her heart and her old friend that was always there for her. Who is the one who is the cure for her gift? Who will break her heart?

Her ex boyfriend through half the book you think will save her but when you realize he is kind of the bad guy in it and realize who the real hero of the story is you are amazed. The hero oh my lord im trying not to give away spoiler but omgosh I just loved loved loved him. Best character by far.

This story has it all jealousy, betrayal, danger, heartbreak and mystery. Entertaining and very realistic adventure with a believable story-line and highly realistic charters. This wonderfully told story draws you into her world from page one and makes it very difficult to put down till the very end. Found that I had devoured this book in one day.

Becca writes New Adult (college age) fiction that's typically Urban Fantasy but often ranges anywhere from Science Fiction to Thrillers. Her writing typically involves a bit of the fantastical with an emphasis on relationships. She is addicted to thinking up cool, super-human abilities and the tragic downsides that go along with them.

REVIEW: Song Breaker By Annette Lyon

When her brother duels the world’s most powerful wizard, Aino is cursed; if she can’t break the spell in time, she’ll be trapped—forever.

To Aino, the idea of spending her life warming the bed of a wrinkled old man—especially when it means life without her secretly betrothed love—is horrifying. But that is the fate that awaits her because her brother, Jouko, has dueled the famed wizard Vane—and lost.

At the last moment, the old man agreed to spare Jouko’s life in exchange for Aino’s hand, and the contract is sealed with magic that cannot be undone by anyone but Vane himself.

Aino swears she’ll never marry against her will, yet with only two days until the wizard comes for her, she must find a way to break the deep magic of the contract, or she’ll be Vane’s prisoner for life. Her efforts might free her from the old wizard, but her escape could mean merely exchanging one kind of prison for another.

Based on a Nordic myth in the Finnish Kalevala, which inspired Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings and Gandalf himself, comes Song Breaker from a USA Today bestselling author.

I was intrigued by the title and premise of this story. Its a great read for a the YA readers. Its full of magic and adventure I loved it.

I will say also that most every character in the book has some sort of growth in this way, except the mom. Oh, heavens. She was an interesting character for sure. The whole time I was reading I kept thinking A & E Pride and Prejudice's Mrs. Bennett. Constant, incessant, nagging, poking, whining, complaining...you get the picture. Now, although she wasn't my favorite character from the book, this personality worked for her. And I think it really helped Aino in her resolve of what she was going to do to protect her heart. Aino's dad is pretty much non-existent.

There's a sweet love story behind the tension of Aino, Vane and Jouko that had some sweet moments. It is in all reality what drives the story, because Aino loves Paavo, she refuses to attach herself to Vane.

The magical aspects were interesting and I liked the way they worked in the story. I'm interested to know if the way it is written in this story is how it is portrayed in the Finnish mythology story. How closely did the author follow the myth and how much was creative licensing to bring about this story?

I think if you're interested in mythology, this might be a fun read for you. Other readers are really enjoying it but for me it wasn't an absolutely love it read, but one that was ok. I have read many other books by this author and enjoyed those a lot. This one didn't quite catch me like the others did. I will say there were quite a few typos needing to be fixed that were distracting. A handful doesn't bother me but there were several scattered throughout.

REVIEW: Fairy RIng (Shards Of Janderelle) By Jacque Stevens

#1 New Release in Teen & Young Adult Depression Fiction eBooks (Sept 2017)
Fourteen-year-old Livy’s best friends just happen to be fairies.
With them, she defeats snow monsters and discovers lost treasure, running wild through her apartment complex. Game after endless game. That’s how it works with fairies. They might be illusions, but they helped her cope when her father walked out, leaving her to care for her drug-addicted mother alone.
Then Child Protective Services swoops in, sending Livy to live with her father, but that doesn’t stop the fairies from tagging along. The illusions that helped her in the past now cause nothing but trouble—preluding fires in chemistry and sword fights in gym. It isn’t any wonder her stepmother thinks she’s crazy, maybe even on drugs like her mother. Forced into therapy, Livy tries to conform to her new life. But when the military precision of her stepmother’s household becomes too much, she crosses the fairy ring to a dream world where her imagination can run free again.
Her scars transfer from one world to the other. So does a death. With her family ready to have her committed, Livy must unravel the truth behind her so-called schizophrenic delusions before they take another life—hers.
Fairy Ring: Shards of Janderelle is a darkly humorous and magical tale with elements of A Monster Calls (Patrick Ness), Calvin: A Novel (Martine Leavitt), and other young adult stories that blend the borders of contemporary fantasy and psychology. It explores teenage/family drama, mental illness, and a fantasy world that might be too good to be true.
Clean Read. References to mental illness, substance abuse, and other more serious issues. Recommended for young adults and teens twelve and up.

This is one amazing author. I have read several of her books and I have read every single one always loving them. She creates this amazing world in each of her books and it just pulls you in and you cant stop reading them.

This is a wonderful empathetic adventure, following the way Livy copes with her hard life. It's great to see how Livy grows up, learns to stand up for herself, and learns to see outside of herself to help others. There are some tough ideas (divorce, mental illness, suspicion of drug use) that are covered, but they are handled with care.

Even though they are pretty weighty topics, I feel this is a great book for teens to be introduced to the idea that some of their peers might be struggling with some hard things in life.

This book is extremely well written, to the extent that the reader often wonders what is reality and what is fantasy and if the fantasy is really fantasy. It is also the type of book that makes you dwell on it long after it is finished. It highlights important issues and would be a great bookclub book for teenagers.

REVIEW:A Sunrise In Rio By Rachel Matthews

Jayla Mitchelson never thought she'd fall for a client! After landing the photography job of a lifetime, she gets more than she bargained for with wealthy businessman Eric Jansen. When he asks her for a special favor, nothing would prepare her for the question that would forever change her life. Eric Jansen needs a fiancée and the beautiful new photographer for his Brazilian development project is perfect and outside of the media's curious eye. He lives day by day guarding his heart since the death of his wife, but Jayla's warmth and passion definitely captures his interest. Though they come from different worlds, he just may find himself asking her to stay long after the job is done.

This is the first book I've read by this author. It was a quick, light and fun read. The writing was easy to read and follow. The story flowed well and the author knew how to keep the story moving. The setting of Rio, Southern California, and New York City was enchanting. Anyone who enjoys clean contemporary romance would enjoy this book.

Eric Jansen, business mogul, doesn't believe in love. He dates only for public relations, but no one ever gets close to him. He's cold and he plans to stay that way. However, he's got an investor that has traditional values and wants to see Eric settled down before agreeing to invest. So, Eric's solution is to hire a woman to pretend to be his fiancee.

Jayla Mitchelson thinks she's flying to Rio to photograph a property development. What she doesn't expect is to that she would be playing the pretend role of her new client's fiancee!
What neither expect is that they would each be attracted to each other. Could Eric's icy heart actually be melting?

Such stubborn and intriguing characters to be sure and the way they fall or start falling for eachother is so damn fascinating.
Plenty of heat without the smut. I have to say not many authors can do that, but this author does it with flair.

No the heat didn't come from the sex, just a look between the two is enough to burn the sheets.
Looking for a clean refreshing adult romance? Do yourself a favor and give this a try, you won't regret it.
