Review & Giveaway Blog Tour: Geek Bearing Gifts by Milly Taiden

Nita Islas wants to find love. She’s tired of the superficial relationships and is ready to give true romance a try. She uses the Paranormal Dating Agency and hopes they can help her where all others have failed. What she didn’t expect was to find her date flat on his back in nothing more than a towel.

Ky Stone has been in love with curvy and funny Nita since they were in High School. When she moved away, she took his heart with her. Then one day Ky wakes up to find her leaning over him. He’s sure he’s died and gone to heaven. He has no idea what she’s doing there, but he’s sure as hell not letting her leave.

Fate, meddling family and the PDA have brought them together again. The chemistry between them is explosive. But there’s problems with Ky’s neighboring clan and he’s keeping secrets from Nita. He needs to find a way to open up to her or lies and unexpected danger could tear them apart...forever.

Reader Warning: This book contains lots of scorching sex (dirty dirty dirty sex), adult language (hanky panky with no dirty talk is no fun), and violence. If this is not the kind of stuff you like to read, skip this book. However, if you like dirty, raunchy sex with a hot bear on one curvy sarcastic girl, then this is right up your alley. Enjoy!

Excerpt:

“So you see, I want a man that will be interested in me as a person. Not just for sex. Not for money, which I don’t have. Not for whatever he might think he can get out of me. I want to be wanted for the woman inside. And I sure as hell want to be wanted sexually too.”

Mrs. Wilder cocked her head to the side, staring at her with her soulful eyes. “Darling, there are many sides to you. Your beauty, your body, your wit, your abilities at work. What do you want to focus on if anything in particular?”

She leaned back on the sofa, the seat dipping under her butt. The leather squeaked with the weight of her body. “I want more than sex. Don’t get me wrong, sex is great.”

Mrs. Wilder snorted, her eyes turned bright with amusement. Her lips twisted in a smirk and a small dimple showed on her right cheek. She appeared even younger when she smiled. “Sex is amazing when done correctly. Especially if he can figure out how to be all alpha and make your legs shake.”

Oh, damn! She choked on the cookie she’d taken a bite of, chocolate spewing from her lips with each cough. She picked up a napkin and tried to clear her throat. Mrs. Wilder was a freak.

Review - 4 Happy Java Stars!

I am a giant freaking paranormal romance junkie. Seriously. I'd probably have convulsions and die if I didn't have my fix. It's my genre. (I have a separate addiction to the type of hero I prefer). I do branch out into other areas, especially romance, but seriously, PNR is where it's at for me. Hot, dirty sex scenes aren't a necessity but holy crap they're nice if done right!

For a short, erotic paranormal read, this is definitely where you want to turn. I read it in one sitting and was actually surprised it was over and I hadn't moved. I devoured this book. There's no other word for it. Now, for the less gushing and more constructive stuff.

Overall, the Paranormal Dating Agency is a huge hit with me, not to mention the curvy woman theme, of course. I'm definitely not skinny, and although I wouldn't really be classified as curvy either, it's nice to see when you're tired of getting a complex about your weight! Besides, men really DO like at least some curves on women. When you add in some geekiness for your protagonists, wow! A very nice idea that is sure to make me pick up the book. Which I did! Although the cover had a great deal to do with it too. Kudos on the concept and execution of that cover.

Nita was likable and had all the more realistic insecurities that accompany being curvy in our society, although I did find her a itty-bitty dense in regards to not realizing who Ky was. I mean... really? Ky was an atypical hottie who hadn't been so hot when he was young, leaving him without much of the arrogance some hot men can have. That made him very likable. Admittedly likable isn't my sort of swoon character, but I did adore him and give him cuddles! He was freaking likable! Sorry, couldn't come up with a better word for either character. They WERE likable. They had great chemistry. Hell, thankfully I was home alone reading this or I'd have blushed they were so hot together. The character depth could have been deeper, but with the length of the story, you couldn't do too much more. (How many times did I say likable?)

Actual story was short, sweet, and to the point with all the good excitement in between. Yes, it could have been more involved and expanded, but again, length and story, good mix. I would have actually preferred it to be a longer story with more involvement, hence the rating of 4 stars, not 5, but overall, nothing too terribly major. Except a two tiny - or rather medium sized - plot points I felt should have been better introduced into the story, or changed, or fixed. Whichever.

Writing was good, dialog not terribly cheesy - and sometimes hot sexy reads can get seriously cheesy during dirty dialog - and I didn't feel anything really stood out and made me "GAH!" over something, but neither did I notice quotes that stuck with me and great lines. So it was good, although not great. (I'm sensing a theme with this review today).

Overall, if you want a fast, fluffy, SEXY paranormal read, pick this up! If you want long, deep, involved plot-lines and characters, you might want to look some place else. But I did like it a great deal and can't wait for the third installment of this series!

Author Bio:

Hi! I'm Milly (AKA April Angel) I love to write sexy stories. They're usually either paranormal or contemporary with a large dose of heat. My paranormal stories can be anything from wolf-shifters (my favorites) to witches, demons and anything in between. I was born the prettiest part of the Caribbean known as the Dominican Republic. Currently, I live in New York City with my hubby, the bossy kiddo and our little dog "Needy Speedy". Don't ask.
When I'm not working some really long hours at the day job, or hanging out in the awful life-sucking invention known as Facebook, messaging my bestie in the UK or shopping with my sis Julie, then I can be found watching scary movies. Buuut when I'm not doing that, I'm usually writing because the voices won't shut up.
I am addicted to shoe shopping, chocolate (but who isn't, right?) and Dunkin' Donuts coffee.
Come by and visit me! I love to meet new readers!
